Abstract
The article is devoted to an unknown case of the military agency branch of the All-Russian General Staff, in which a whole group of people was arrested in Moscow in September 1918, including some prominent military specialists led by former Colonel K.I. Zhikhor. The material shows the peculiarities of the repressive practices of the CHEKA towards former officers during the Civil War. If most of the defendants in the case were released soon, then K.I. himself. Zhikhor remained in prison for the entire period of the Civil War and was eventually forced to change his military profession, becoming an engineer. Based on the documents of the Central Archive of the Federal Security Service of Russia and other archives introduced into scientific circulation for the first time, the article analyzes the causes, course and consequences of the case of the military agency branch. In addition, the fate of the key person involved in the case of K.I. Zhikhor, a loyal Soviet military specialist, who continued to be persecuted for political reasons in the future, which eventually led to his execution, is traced in detail.
